Stockholm, Day Two
We did a bunch of stuff on the second day, and since I got pictures of most of it, I'll let them tell the story:
Beautiful Stockholm in the morning.
This is Villa Villekula (Pippi Longstocking's house!) This was at a children's story museum called Junibecken. Aya and I thought it was super cool, but the guys and Caitlin were less impressed.
The Vasa Museum. The Vasa was an ill-proportioned ship which sank outside of Stockholm in a century long ago (I don't remember exactly when). They reconstructed the ship and built a museum around it. It was perty interesting.
Caitlin and Aya at Murens, the coolest coffee shop ever. We played cards and backgammon there for hours while we waited for our reservation at....
The Ice Bar! This was one thing I had heard about that I really wanted to see! It's inside the Nordic Sea Hotel, and it's a bar that is literally made out of ice! It cost 150 kronor, which includes entrance, parkas and gloves, and one Absolut vodka cocktail served in a block of ice. It was neato, but super cold inside. Left to right is me, Aya, Lucas, Caitlin, and Fabian. I guess Mohamed was taking the picture.
Aya and I (the Californians, and the only non-Canadians), were the first to wimp out after about an hour in the Ice Bar. We were happy to find that the ladies' toalett was empty, and we sat on the counter and ran hot water over our freezing toes.

One thing I forgot to mention earlier about the second day in Stockholm was that I lost my wallet on the subway :(. I discovered it was missing as we were checking into the hotel we stayed in Saturday night, so we spent most of the morning looking for it. I immediately called the bank to cancel my cards, and filed a report with the police department, and checked the subway station lost and found. I was pretty upset about it, but Aya loaned me some cash and I managed to forget about and enjoy the rest of the day.
